Post Production Process: Computer Animation

When it comes to corporate videos, it's actually not enough that you have the audio and video right. You need to be a little engaging, exciting, and interesting, to say the least. If your audience will not buy something from you, then you might as well keep them curious through your video. That's why animation will always have a soft spot in corporate videos, and it's usually part of the post-production process.

Process of Animation

For a lot of people, the animation process can be pretty complicated. If you think that you can't or none of your team can handle the animation aspect, then you should leave it to the professionals. There are already plenty of companies that offer animation services for corporate reasons. You can employ one of them for your corporate promotional videos.

There are also a lot of software that allow you to add graphics into your video. You have After Effects CS3, Photoshop CS4, and Flash CS3, to name a few. There are free GIFs that you can get straight from the World Wide Web.

Where You Can Use Animation

There are also a lot of areas in the video where you can add your animation. For one, you can use it when you're jumping from one idea to another. This way, it will be easier for your audience to determine where a certain concept starts and ends. Second, you can use it to enhance the appearance of your graphs. You can make them increase or decrease based on the data provided, change color, move on their own, and a whole lot more.

Most of all, your animation can be perfect when you're creating a demo. Though nothing still beats real-time demos, there are still aspects of them that cannot be covered, and you may want to explain these through additional animation effects. For example, if you're selling a skin care product, your prospective buyers can perhaps see someone applying the cream on herself, but they cannot really understand what's going on her skin surface after that. You can then use your special effects to talk further about that. Simply put, you can tremendously improve the benefits of your products or services.

Limitations of Animation

Nevertheless, no matter how captivating animation can be, it's still highly important that you don't go overboard with it. The last thing that you want to hear from your audience is to call it "cute." This is because it only means that you're already veering away from creating a professional-looking video.

But how can you exactly place limits on your animation? Again, you can always go back to the places where you can use them more effectively. Tone down the use of several icons and GIFs. Avoid using a lot of different colors for your texts and too much transition techniques that they already becoming an eye sore.

With animation, your goal should always be to stress very important points in a creative way. Unless you will be able to meet this, your corporate video will be viewed as mediocre and totally unprofessional-though it could be "cute."
